When we hear the word "yoga", we think of peace, centering, stretching, inner challenges..... When we hear "Kundalini yoga", well, if you practice this, your response may be ahhhhh, or " not for me", but if you do not practice it, the word in itself may evoke some feelings of resistance.{ Ooh what's that. Oh no I am not interested in that kind of thing , whatever it is.}

So, I am not going to talk about Kundalini Yoga.  I am going to ask questions.

Do you ever feel overwhelmed?
Are you going through, or have been through some difficult challenges, traumas?
Would you like to erase the word " stress" from your personal dictionary?
Are you in recovery from illness or working on some issue of maintaining health and wellness and balance?
Are community, peaceful living, sense of inner wellbeing important to you?

If you have answered yes to one of these questions, please do continue.
If you answered no to all of them, please, please, continue reading.

I have been taking classes with Francie Mcdougall at Masjah Studio. Francie is a warm, caring person, with a huge heart, and her expertise in many fields is vast. In every class, she imparts some piece of wisdom , anecdote, or suggestion for any ailment or concern. And she listens. She takes time to talk about whatever it is that concerns you. This is all while she is sharing her wonderful Yogi tea with you.
Each class she teaches is different, because each day ; each group is different. She intuitively creates a class that is more often than not, spot on with what each and everyone in the class needed.

As far as the class, the music is some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. We breathe. All kinds of breathing techniques. We close our eyes and move through gentle warm ups: stretching our necks and shoulders and spine while sitting in easy pose.
In Francie's class, easy pose is what is easy for you. If you are not comfortable, then she welcomes you to find comfort.
We listen to music. We chant together we eyes closed, which promotes a sense of inner knowing and community.
When we do a pose, it is often gentle movement, accompanied by a mantra or breathing. Her gentle yet strong voice guides you just when you were beginning to falter. And just when you think you have had it, you hear her say " just 30 more seconds. you are doing great."
And then we rest. Listening to melodies float around the room and through our bodies.
We meditate.
We sing "Long Time Sun" together, spreading open our hearts , with love for ourselves, one another and the world.

We practice Kundalini Yoga.

Now, all that being said, there are some tough classes out there, that the poses and movement are challenging. and we have had some definite challenges! But you are always always guided to listen to you body, and do what is appropriate for you. Even if you just lay there. That is okay, you are still gaining great benefit, says Francie.

I am blogging this, because this practice has been life altering for me in many ways, and with the simplest methods, methods I can use at any time at home or anywhere.
So, I invite you to try Francie's class. You do not have to like it, of course, but you will never know if you dont try!

She teaches Tuesday nights at Masjah Studio at 630pm. We often are there until 830 just because we do not want to leave!
Also, Thursday mornings at 8am, she teaches an abbreviated version- a great morning start to your day. As this class gets going, we will be offering fresh fruit and organic muffins or bars with her yogi tea.

Much gratitude to Francie and Yogi Bhajan!

When you are really in the flow with your Inner Being, ideas come easily...they are implemented easily. It's fun while you are in the process of them, and it doesn't matter how they unfold; and nothing can go wrong, and it doesn't matter if you don't get it done, it's just fun to do it. Your Inner Being feels no limit. So, anything that feels like limits is something that you have self-imposed.

~ Abraham

We all have unlimited creativity!
We are constantly pulling in energies and channeling information from many sources- on this plane, and from other realms. There is an infinite amount of " info" in the ethers, so to speak that we are able to access, an Are accessing each and every moment! Hence, our chattering " monkey minds" Whatever we attune to, whatever thoughts we pay attention to, become more solidified as reality in our present day living and in our consciousness.
HOW we pay attention to these thoughts depends on our emotional, physical, mental and energetic states, and our spiritual development, among other things.

Simple example, maybe not the best one, but you will get the drift... We wake up and go outside to see a sunny, beautiful day.
If we have attended to our emotional physical, mental and energetic states, we will cherish the warm sunlight, and find pleasure in the moment. When we do this, we may begin to notice flowers blooming, and when we do this, we may notice the songs of birds....... A fly, or bothersome insect may land on us, but we are not particularly bothered by this, as we are now in a nice state of vibration and joyful thinking and feeling.
This all changes if we are struggling with any one of the physical, emotional, mental or energetic states.
We may see the sun as harsh and an annoyance. This reminds us of all the annoying things that are going on in our lives. This reminds us of all the things we must accomplish today. This thought process changes our vibratory levels so that we may not even notice any flowers, and do not hear any birds. If a fly whizzes by, we are flustered and annoyed and may even exclaim,
" see?  everything is out to get me."

Kind of like the commercial for Direct TV. If you do this, then you experience this, and if you experience that, you feel this........

Let's take an example of a legit problem. You have bills to pay and can not pay them. The rent is due and you do not have the funds to pay it at this time.
Focusing your thoughts on paying bills is not a bad thing. We all have to focus our thoughts on that!
If you are healthy, feeling good about yourself, balanced pretty much emotionally, have a calm ish mental state, and are energetically balanced and in tune, you most likely will move into a positive flow of thought process, therefore not worrying as much as placing an intention to do something about being able to pay bills.
This thought flow connects in with a stream of universal consciousness, { Many Native americans refer to this a s the Field of Plenty: all thought forms thatprovide all that ever is needed on the road of life exsist in the Field of Plenty - a non physical plane- }
and you not only come up with "new " ideas to make money, you also begin to attract people and situations that will help you.

If you are worried about this, if you feel you are not good enough, strong enough smart enough; if you are sick or emotionally distraught, as we all Get to be sometimes!!!, or  if you are paying attention to spiraling thoughts of how bad things are,
then you will be blocking any flow of thoughts that are flowing toward a resolution to your dilemma. Because, you are Actually Focusing on the DILEMMA, therfore, tuning into the stream of thought called DILEMMAS!   Solutions you try do not work, and you begin to attract even more bill problems. Then you get behind on rent, and can not seem to dig out! and the you begin to worry, and more worry stuff comes. Then you get depressed, and you tune into the air frequency channel of depression.
ICK!!!!

I do not mean to simplify or dismiss serious problems. I am only offering a perspective.
hh
What to do.    Take care of our physical, emotional, mental, energetic and spiritual states.
The good news is, that if we take care of ONE, then others follow.
But we must BE DILIGENT. Everyone has different stuff they struggle with. It will not be easy. Pick teh easy one and start there.

PHYSICAL:   work outs, yoga, walk, stretch- tune IN to physical wellbeing. Eat well. Breathe. Move.
seek professional help. Herbal supplements, vitamins, minerals, water.

MENTAL:  quiet the mind. meditate. seek help. immerse yourself in reading uplifting and helpful things
                 Meditate. Breathe. Move. { tapping into physical quiets the mind}

EMOTIONAL:all of the above. using your physical body stabilizes and reduces stress. etc etc. Find a community. We all need to have a sense of belonging. Seek help. Do things that make you feel joy, even for a moment. Do things that feel nurturing. If you can not think of any, Google it! This will help you tune into a different frequency.  Dont Google " DEpression. Google JOY. See what happens.
Google Calming things instead of Anxiety. you see what I mean.
Breathe. Deep breaths. Imagine you are really enjoying it.

ENERGETIC. We are vibrational Beings. Seek out Energy work. Acupuncture, Reiki, etc. NATURE. Even if you do not get a thrill out of walking in nature, Nature is THRILLED to have you.Even if you do not hear birds, or see flowers, or feel good about the sunlight or rain or clouds or sky, THEY ARE STILL THERE. and they know you are there. The energetic benefits are HUGE..
We have the ocean here on Cape. Go there. The great waters will heal. Even if you do not feel it. You will.  Breathe. Drink Water. Eat healthy. Move.  Hmmmm, seems to be a recurring theme here.....

SPIRITUAL:     You have heard " we are spiritual beings in a physical body."  It is true.
It is so true, that we do not have to focus on increasing our spirituality as a singularity. This will come to you as you take care of all of the above. You will seek out your teachers. They will come. You will naturally begin to tune into your guides and your higher power etc. as you move through all of the above.
and you can always read, listen to others stories, and Google it.

I run workshops on this stuff- if you are interested, or interested in private sessions, feel free to contact me.
I honor the divine light in you, and you in me, and we are one.
                                                        Namaste
