Shine bright

It is gray and cold. A blanket of white covers the ground and weighs down the branches of the trees. Winter is a time to go inward, to take care of those things we tend to dismiss when the sun shines and the weather beckons us to play outside. Unless we love the cold snowy days, or we are a 90 pound labrador, who, upon being let out this morning, jumped into the snow and reveled in the changed landscape of the backyard!
I am a summer lover and a sun worshipper, and so, motivation is quite difficult on these snowy, cold, gray days. But I remind myself that the sun shines bright high above us,
and within us.
So, shine bright as you walk softly into your day, gray, or not.

Dark vs White = Fight.... Dark and White = Light

We know of the ancient story of the dark wolf and white wolf inside each one of us.
“There is a white wolf and a black wolf. The black wolf is filled with fear, anger, envy, jealousy, greed, and arrogance. The white wolf is filled with peace, love, hope, courage, humility, compassion, and faith. They battle constantly”. Atalwin Pilon

I have known this story/proverb for many many years. I have spent much time exploring just what my dark wolf is about. I actually have found it intriguing in a way, delving into the shadow parts of myself.
{ must be part of the Scorpio nature}  This exploration actually is pretty much a mandatory initiation into the world of shamanism, curanderismo, and other healing modalities, and so I had come to believe that I had successfully worked through this and become pals with my dark wolf.

Aha! Just when you think you know,  you are given an opportunity that takes your perception and flips it on its side!

This opportunity often presents itself in the form of another human being.

The battle being waged inside oneself is one thing; to be engaged in a battle with the battle inside someone else, is another whole thing. And you can not win, but no one can tell you that. You have to keep learning over and over again, and the learning does not cease until you decide. Until you decide you can not fight someone else's battle. What happens in the process of trying to do so, is that your own dark wolf rises up, with gnashing teeth as sharp as swords, and your white wolf lays down.
Sometimes your white wolf is attacked and ridiculed.  Oooh this is tough. Just when you think you were being peaceful and loving and compassionate.... you get slammed. What to do? Do you let the dark wolf out of the den?
It comes down to how you feel; what is important for you- what resonates with your highest vibrational self.

I have let that dark wolf out to wreak some havoc when backed in a corner, I hate to admit, and each time I have crawled back, scathed and wounded. Sometimes my dark wolf has come stealthily, in the form of martyrdom , attachments, and  wounded self as well as scathing and seething.   I have had to fully embrace the dark wolf and surround her with acceptance and acknowledgement, for this contrast within us all is part of being human. It is part of why we are even here. Awareness is huge, and to run from the shadow parts of yourself, or stuff them in an oversized box and think they will go away, will just not be helpful.

The dark wolf develops and forms from experiences, belief systems, past lives, past wounds, fears... all these are not " bad". We tend to categorize things as good or bad depending on a number of qualifying factors. Your dark wolf isn't all bad- it provides you with a contrast to what you want to be. If you want to be immersed in dark wolf ways, well, life aint gonna be too happy. Does the image of a dark swirling abyss come to mind here?

The only way out of the abyss is to acknowledge and accept the dark wolf, and then embrace the white wolf. This does not mean you back down and lose your self worth. { self loathing and constant self- admonishment is dark wolf stuff} Your white wolf will show you the way to honor and be honored. Your white wolf will seek help if things get too much. Your white wolf will always ask, " what would love do?" while also encouraging you to protect and love yourself. Your white wolf will help you walk away from harmful situations. Your white wolf is powerful without having to state it or prove it or lash out to defend itself. Be ready. Your dark wolf will come around, but if you know what to look for and recognize it for what it is, it will have no power over you. It will just be. Then you can turn your focus on white wolf stuff, like compassion, hope, service to others, peace.... and the more you align with those kinds of things, the more you create that way of living, and the more you will attract "white wolf people" into your life. Of course, all white wolf people have their bewildering dark wolves sleeping until provoked..... it is the way it is. That is why we choose to help one another; to understand another's pain. We recognize our own selves in others. The world outside comes from the world within. The white wolf calls. Will you answer?

The Democracy of The Bottle Cap Kids

Back in the day, thirty, no forty? years ago, the world was a different place. The way we lived, the way we thought, was different. Or was it?
In light, or{dark}, of all the political debates and ever rising angst and conflict, this memory recently surfaced in my mind, prompted by noticing an old bottle cap imbedded in the dirt, on the side of the road, one day while walking the dogs.
This is based on a true story.

I remember my back yard as being a vast expanse of meadows and woods, with paths and trails, and adventure waiting to happen. Way out back, there rose a large tree, right in the middle of the property- a   tree that called out to children to come and play in its branches. And so it was, that for one or two  or three years, this great tree became the center for not only me and my siblings, but for all neighborhood children.

It must have been my dad, with help maybe from his neighbor pals, Bob and Freddy, that built the tree house in this magnificent tree. Ah, such a child's dream! I remember looking out to the tree house, while quickly finishing my breakfast, unable to contain my excitement of another day out in the wild.
Those were the days when we would break free from the confines of our homes mid- morning, and not return until it was dark, or we heard the sound of the dinner bell. Including my siblings and myself, there were probably 12 to 15 of us in total- more, if I include the older girls who babysat us. We were living the dream, in our empire of imagination and creativity. Freedom and Expression reigned.

Those were also the days when a big adventure would be getting to walk up to the end of the street to the corner gas station and buy a soda out of the machine. The bottles were glass, and had cool, or what we thought were cool, bottle caps.  And so it came to be, through the direction of our oldest neighborhood gang member, that in order to be admitted into the tree house, we would have to present a bottle cap. These bottle caps were purposefully pushed into the wood walls of our club house to create a colorful mosaic. Sometimes, the caps would not easily go in, and then Stevie, being the oldest, would use a hammer to pound them in. An understanding developed that we were not to use the hammer, { probably coming from the top- our parents} and that Stevie was responsible. Made sense to us. We had no troubles following Stevie. He naturally took a leadership role, and we were fine with it. We still got to vote when it came down to important decisions, like what our club name was going to be. We finally settled on "The Bottle Cap Kids".
Actually, Maybe Stevie came up with it and we went along- I am not sure.

So , The Bottle Cap Kids met all the time. We had great times. Not sure what we actually did- I don't remember, but I remember how I felt. I was happy, inspired, protected- I belonged. We had friends, fun, a place to gather, a place to explore and play.
I also remember not being so crazy about some of the rules Stevie put in place, but it was okay. We outnumbered him and usually got our way. He was not always there anyway, so that small groups of us younger kids could play the games we wanted. Stevie's brother, Michael was very imaginative, and would set up all kinds of wonderful ways to spend our days.

There were a few kids that were not part of our immediate group- they lived too far on the outskirts of our designated roaming area. Frannie T. was one of those kids. He lived way down by the school.
{ upon traveling back to my home town as an adult, I was amazed that " way down by the school" was only a 4 minute walk.}
Frannie was probably a year younger than Stevie- maybe they were the same age. He was blonde haired and blue eyed, and Cool, and one day decided to pay us a visit.

Stevie wasn't around for a few days. Perhaps he had begun team sports and was too busy elsewhere, but whatever the case, we happily brought Frannie into the club. And he didn't even require a bottle cap. In Fact, with Frannie around, none of us required a bottle cap to get in. Frannie had some grand ideas, and Frannie was a flirt.

By the time Stevie landed back in to check in on The Bottle Cap Kids, I was prepared to follow Frannie anywhere.

And so it began. Stevie contested that we could no longer call ourselves The Bottle Cap Kids if we didnt even use bottle caps. Frannie responded that there was no more room for bottle caps anyway, and Jeez, let's come up with a better name! If we were going to do this fair and square, we would have to put this issue to a vote.

" Okay. One week from today, we all meet here and vote. My way, or Frannie's." stated Stevie.

The campaigning began, and the neighborhood atmosphere changed. There was less play and more concentrated effort to get your guy to win. Michael, of course was gathering votes for his brother, and I became the spokesperson for the forever Frannie Club. This put me at odds with Michael, my best friend, but it seemed okay to me. It seemed quite important. We began to forget what we were actually disputing, and became caught up in the rush of making our point and bringing "our side" to victory.

On VOTING DAY, emotions had escalated. We were all preparing for the big event. We were all banking on our constituents to come through. We wolfed down our breakfast, and sped through the chores. My siblings and I were just about to bust out the back door, when my mother's voice called from the kitchen.

" No Tree House Today."
What?????  MAUMMMM NO! You don't understand!!!!!

" This whole tree house thing has gotten out of hand. Every single one of you is bickering and miserable. Dougy's Mother called me this morning and he pushed his little sister down because of some  kind of vote going on today. Well, there will be none of that. Besides, school is starting and we have things to do." Mom had spoken.

The tree house stood silent for awhile. The trails gathered leaves, and the hush of the wind blew through the meadow. The parents began their own campaign of teaching their children compassion and the value of friendship and being a part of a community- helping one another ; how to discern what is important; moving away from situations that cause anger and hatred and work towards a common ground based on values of honesty, trust, respect and honor. Basically, we were all grounded.

Some amount of time passed- how much I do not recall-  I found Michael alone in the tree house, and sat next to him. We decided we didn't really care about the bottle cap dispute. We both apologized, as we picked up the fallen bottle caps off the floor. When we heard chatter, we peered over the sides of the tree house to see the Giles kids from down the street running through the meadow. Just as they climbed to the top of the tree house stairs, we heard my siblings making their way across the field to the tree. Then the Marshall kids and the Mullens. Suddenly all was forgotten and we cheered and laughed; jumped and played.
And when Stevie slowly climbed the tree, we all were genuinely happy to see him.

On this day, we changed our ways of thinking and doing. We decided on a council- the four oldest would be responsible and everyone was involved in the process. We even came up with a grievance committee { me} to whom we would go to with any issues. In the end, we did not want to be banned from the tree house. We needed to protect our empire of imagination and play, and the only way to do this was through team work. And when Frannie came around again, he was less about being the leader and more about just being there.

When summer came around again, both Stevie and Frannie had come of an age where tree houses and play had little place in their activities, and we rarely saw either of them. As time passed, we too moved away from the tree house and into other activities. We had grown up a little that one summer, and learned some valuable lessons through our intro to politics experience.

Today there are few children in the neighborhood. My parents sold the house and moved to the Cape; others moved away or passed on. There are more houses, more cars, more. The corner gas station is now a larger service station. The tree still stands tall, although the tree house has long been torn down, and the wind still carries the notes of laughter that once were.  Ironic perhaps, Stevie built a home in back of the tree and the meadow and lives there still with his family, for, as much as things change, they also remain the same. Long live The Bottle Cap Kids.

Fifty Shades of Grey.

This book has become a phenomenon. One can hardly go anywhere without seeing someone reading it, carrying it, or buying it. I heard about it some time ago, when someone referenced it as a sex novel and that she could not put the book down. Hmmm. not particularly interested.
And then I began to hear more about it- women almost blushing and hushing as they admitted that they have read it.
I have this thing about NOT reading what everyone else is reading. I do not know why, I guess I just don't want to be reading what everyone else is- who knows. I resisted Hunger Games for quite some time until one of my daughters, who does not usually enjoy reading, declared that it is  MUST READ. Ah yes, I read it, and became hooked, like everyone else.

Similarly, one of my daughters, the one that is an avid reader, came home for the weekend with Fifty Shades in hand, and proceeded to lay on the couch to read.
" It's not that good, Mom", she said as she continued to read.
" I mean, it's ok- I need to keep reading to find out about Christian." and she continued to read.
" It's really about the relationship." she would say as she proceeded to finish the book and leave it on the coffee table.

I would pass the coffee table and look at it. Nope. Not tapping into this.
Then, one night, the book I was reading, about Sacred Sights on the planet just wasn't keeping my attention, and I picked up Fifty Shades and crawled into bed to see what all the hoopla was about.

Okay. So, besides the shock factor effect from the sex scenes,  and the intrigue of the relationship, I , always the sociologist, was very intrigued about just what it was about this book that had every other woman so enthralled.
There was an underlying feel that was disturbing to me- perhaps, I thought, because I have experienced relationships marked with elements of psychosis.... do other people feel like this, I thought?

The sex became kind of secondary to a theme that must ring true in many womens' lives:
The power struggle in relationships.   In the book, the male dominance is portrayed in the extreme sense, but we all have experienced dominant/submissive in some degree in our relations with family, friends and lovers.
On a bigger scale, the power struggle between masculine and feminine in society, in the world, and in our very own selves is a balance that we as humans strive to achieve.
As we explore the polarities within ourselves, we find our dark shadow self- the stuff we just do not like, and the lighter, higher vibrational self, aligned with what feels good and what our purpose here is.
We come upon our " darker" selves in our relationships so that we can explore, and heal, and help the other in their exploration and healing.
Sometimes this is awful. Sometimes it rocks us and we are hurt and devastated and move on. Or stay in it. Sometimes we work through it, discovering our own inner power and allowing the other to discover theirs. Sometimes this means staying together, sometimes it means going separate ways.

In any case, the mirroring effect does just what a mirror does: you get to take  a look at yourself- all the " good", and all the "bad".

What you see depends on your perspective.

And, in the book, we have the opportunity to  resonate with the strengths within ourselves, as we read about a strong willed, principled woman of integrity who falters, who battles the demons in her head- who observes the goddess part of her and the subconscious part, and follows her heart.

As for the sex, which is what most people/ women are talking about? Well, perhaps this opens an opportunity, in  the privacy of our own reading space, to validate that women are indeed sexual, sensual creatures. Note:  She has no children, dogs, cats, etc etc.... but the youthfulness, the excitement, the pure visceral feelings, must live , even if dormant, within women. To find a balance, to honor that side of us, while maintaining everyday living seems exhausting, if not impossible.

Hence, these books disappear off the shelves as fast as they are stacked in.

I am not saying you should go out and buy it and read it { hey many women have the series- you can borrow.} I know many many women who have no interest at all. Personally I have not read book two or three, perhaps I will not, but I was compelled to write some thoughts.

Besides,  don't we all want to see the "good girl win" ?

HAPPY AUGUST!  Today is day one of the K & C Challenge that Masjah Studio has launched!

The K & C Challenge is inspired by two clients { first names beginning with K and C } who have worked out together here on cape in summer, but now have lost their workout partner due to one of them returning home. They are staying in contact and supporting each other by creating a challenge that each will work towards and they will correspond via phone.

What a great idea!  So I have launched a campaign, borrowing their name, thank you girls!

The Kick it into Gear and Call to Change Challenge will be posted on Masjah Studio's Wall each day. Each day their will be a new challenge for people who are on the page.

August is a great time to start making a plan. We are still in the days of summer with cookouts and friends and busy days, but we begin in August to get a sense of fall coming. Typically, Fall does come and everyone begins making their plans to " get back on track". the kids go back to school, the weather shifts, there seems to be more structure and a feeling of being grounded.
but NOW is the time to start slowly, developing healthy eating habits, a spiritual practice { by this I mean as simple as mindful breathing for 3 min a day}, and incorporating exercise and movement into your life.
THEN, when fall comes, you will be ready to amp it up, because you will already have gathered the tools necessary to build your healthy lifestyle, instead of scrambling around trying to figure out where to start.
And them by the time you finally get on a " good track", Halloween Hits, Thanksgiving comes, and well, yeah, the rest is history.

So Start NOW. Each day!  Check out THe CHallenge by liking the Masjah Studio Page. I also have a K & C Challenge page if you would like to join and have your friends join and you can support each other there.

THe Fall will bring a whole new level of challenges. The Fall Equinox, the changes of season, the increase of vibrational shift on the planet, will all contribute to an amped up arena anyway. But you will be ready. You will have spent this month honing your skills and preparing.
Good for you!

I will also post todays challenge at the studio, as I know most members are not on facebook, but I encourage you to join the page.

For those of you not on Facebook and not members of the studio, I encourage you to begin your own challenge! Each day, choose some activity  for body, mind or soul and just do it!  Begin to make healthy choices in your diet. Drink more water. Move more. Do something to make you smile.

As always, I am available by email, Masjah.studio@gmail.com or tracey@physicalwizdom.com

When we hear the word "yoga", we think of peace, centering, stretching, inner challenges..... When we hear "Kundalini yoga", well, if you practice this, your response may be ahhhhh, or " not for me", but if you do not practice it, the word in itself may evoke some feelings of resistance.{ Ooh what's that. Oh no I am not interested in that kind of thing , whatever it is.}

So, I am not going to talk about Kundalini Yoga.  I am going to ask questions.

Do you ever feel overwhelmed?
Are you going through, or have been through some difficult challenges, traumas?
Would you like to erase the word " stress" from your personal dictionary?
Are you in recovery from illness or working on some issue of maintaining health and wellness and balance?
Are community, peaceful living, sense of inner wellbeing important to you?

If you have answered yes to one of these questions, please do continue.
If you answered no to all of them, please, please, continue reading.

I have been taking classes with Francie Mcdougall at Masjah Studio. Francie is a warm, caring person, with a huge heart, and her expertise in many fields is vast. In every class, she imparts some piece of wisdom , anecdote, or suggestion for any ailment or concern. And she listens. She takes time to talk about whatever it is that concerns you. This is all while she is sharing her wonderful Yogi tea with you.
Each class she teaches is different, because each day ; each group is different. She intuitively creates a class that is more often than not, spot on with what each and everyone in the class needed.

As far as the class, the music is some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. We breathe. All kinds of breathing techniques. We close our eyes and move through gentle warm ups: stretching our necks and shoulders and spine while sitting in easy pose.
In Francie's class, easy pose is what is easy for you. If you are not comfortable, then she welcomes you to find comfort.
We listen to music. We chant together we eyes closed, which promotes a sense of inner knowing and community.
When we do a pose, it is often gentle movement, accompanied by a mantra or breathing. Her gentle yet strong voice guides you just when you were beginning to falter. And just when you think you have had it, you hear her say " just 30 more seconds. you are doing great."
And then we rest. Listening to melodies float around the room and through our bodies.
We meditate.
We sing "Long Time Sun" together, spreading open our hearts , with love for ourselves, one another and the world.

We practice Kundalini Yoga.

Now, all that being said, there are some tough classes out there, that the poses and movement are challenging. and we have had some definite challenges! But you are always always guided to listen to you body, and do what is appropriate for you. Even if you just lay there. That is okay, you are still gaining great benefit, says Francie.

I am blogging this, because this practice has been life altering for me in many ways, and with the simplest methods, methods I can use at any time at home or anywhere.
So, I invite you to try Francie's class. You do not have to like it, of course, but you will never know if you dont try!

She teaches Tuesday nights at Masjah Studio at 630pm. We often are there until 830 just because we do not want to leave!
Also, Thursday mornings at 8am, she teaches an abbreviated version- a great morning start to your day. As this class gets going, we will be offering fresh fruit and organic muffins or bars with her yogi tea.

Much gratitude to Francie and Yogi Bhajan!

When you are really in the flow with your Inner Being, ideas come easily...they are implemented easily. It's fun while you are in the process of them, and it doesn't matter how they unfold; and nothing can go wrong, and it doesn't matter if you don't get it done, it's just fun to do it. Your Inner Being feels no limit. So, anything that feels like limits is something that you have self-imposed.

~ Abraham

We all have unlimited creativity!
We are constantly pulling in energies and channeling information from many sources- on this plane, and from other realms. There is an infinite amount of " info" in the ethers, so to speak that we are able to access, an Are accessing each and every moment! Hence, our chattering " monkey minds" Whatever we attune to, whatever thoughts we pay attention to, become more solidified as reality in our present day living and in our consciousness.
HOW we pay attention to these thoughts depends on our emotional, physical, mental and energetic states, and our spiritual development, among other things.

Simple example, maybe not the best one, but you will get the drift... We wake up and go outside to see a sunny, beautiful day.
If we have attended to our emotional physical, mental and energetic states, we will cherish the warm sunlight, and find pleasure in the moment. When we do this, we may begin to notice flowers blooming, and when we do this, we may notice the songs of birds....... A fly, or bothersome insect may land on us, but we are not particularly bothered by this, as we are now in a nice state of vibration and joyful thinking and feeling.
This all changes if we are struggling with any one of the physical, emotional, mental or energetic states.
We may see the sun as harsh and an annoyance. This reminds us of all the annoying things that are going on in our lives. This reminds us of all the things we must accomplish today. This thought process changes our vibratory levels so that we may not even notice any flowers, and do not hear any birds. If a fly whizzes by, we are flustered and annoyed and may even exclaim,
" see?  everything is out to get me."

Kind of like the commercial for Direct TV. If you do this, then you experience this, and if you experience that, you feel this........

Let's take an example of a legit problem. You have bills to pay and can not pay them. The rent is due and you do not have the funds to pay it at this time.
Focusing your thoughts on paying bills is not a bad thing. We all have to focus our thoughts on that!
If you are healthy, feeling good about yourself, balanced pretty much emotionally, have a calm ish mental state, and are energetically balanced and in tune, you most likely will move into a positive flow of thought process, therefore not worrying as much as placing an intention to do something about being able to pay bills.
This thought flow connects in with a stream of universal consciousness, { Many Native americans refer to this a s the Field of Plenty: all thought forms thatprovide all that ever is needed on the road of life exsist in the Field of Plenty - a non physical plane- }
and you not only come up with "new " ideas to make money, you also begin to attract people and situations that will help you.

If you are worried about this, if you feel you are not good enough, strong enough smart enough; if you are sick or emotionally distraught, as we all Get to be sometimes!!!, or  if you are paying attention to spiraling thoughts of how bad things are,
then you will be blocking any flow of thoughts that are flowing toward a resolution to your dilemma. Because, you are Actually Focusing on the DILEMMA, therfore, tuning into the stream of thought called DILEMMAS!   Solutions you try do not work, and you begin to attract even more bill problems. Then you get behind on rent, and can not seem to dig out! and the you begin to worry, and more worry stuff comes. Then you get depressed, and you tune into the air frequency channel of depression.
ICK!!!!

I do not mean to simplify or dismiss serious problems. I am only offering a perspective.
hh
What to do.    Take care of our physical, emotional, mental, energetic and spiritual states.
The good news is, that if we take care of ONE, then others follow.
But we must BE DILIGENT. Everyone has different stuff they struggle with. It will not be easy. Pick teh easy one and start there.

PHYSICAL:   work outs, yoga, walk, stretch- tune IN to physical wellbeing. Eat well. Breathe. Move.
seek professional help. Herbal supplements, vitamins, minerals, water.

MENTAL:  quiet the mind. meditate. seek help. immerse yourself in reading uplifting and helpful things
                 Meditate. Breathe. Move. { tapping into physical quiets the mind}

EMOTIONAL:all of the above. using your physical body stabilizes and reduces stress. etc etc. Find a community. We all need to have a sense of belonging. Seek help. Do things that make you feel joy, even for a moment. Do things that feel nurturing. If you can not think of any, Google it! This will help you tune into a different frequency.  Dont Google " DEpression. Google JOY. See what happens.
Google Calming things instead of Anxiety. you see what I mean.
Breathe. Deep breaths. Imagine you are really enjoying it.

ENERGETIC. We are vibrational Beings. Seek out Energy work. Acupuncture, Reiki, etc. NATURE. Even if you do not get a thrill out of walking in nature, Nature is THRILLED to have you.Even if you do not hear birds, or see flowers, or feel good about the sunlight or rain or clouds or sky, THEY ARE STILL THERE. and they know you are there. The energetic benefits are HUGE..
We have the ocean here on Cape. Go there. The great waters will heal. Even if you do not feel it. You will.  Breathe. Drink Water. Eat healthy. Move.  Hmmmm, seems to be a recurring theme here.....

SPIRITUAL:     You have heard " we are spiritual beings in a physical body."  It is true.
It is so true, that we do not have to focus on increasing our spirituality as a singularity. This will come to you as you take care of all of the above. You will seek out your teachers. They will come. You will naturally begin to tune into your guides and your higher power etc. as you move through all of the above.
and you can always read, listen to others stories, and Google it.

I run workshops on this stuff- if you are interested, or interested in private sessions, feel free to contact me.
I honor the divine light in you, and you in me, and we are one.
                                                        Namaste

Sunday, May 13, 2012

I was awakened at 230 am this morning to my beagle, Okie, panting and panting in bed with me. I rolled over, trying to sleep, saying, " OKie be quiet. Go to sleep." He persisted. I finally got up and brought him downstairs, gave him water. Curled up on the couch to see if we could sleep there. But his panting persisted. I picked him up to put him outside, around, 3 am, and was blasted with poop coming from him! All over me, him, and the floor. I put him out, and proceeded to strip my pjs, wash the floor, start the laundry. After all this, I went back outside, where he had now been joined by his bro, a 2 year old Sleepy, but supportive black lab. Okie was in a corner, standing at the end of a long trail of poop, with his hind covered as well. Omg.

I washed the deck, and gave him a bath. My lab lay down right next to him, and i left them on the deck to finish cleaning inside. 4 am ,
Might as well pop on facebook, as i charge my phone and computer.

5am Might as well eat something.

As I sit outside on my deck, the birds are chirping and the suns rays are just beginning to dance in the trees. Peace. Beauty. Such a gift.
On Mother's day, I realize what a gift I have just received being up at this time. All is quiet except the symphony of birds, serenading me into the day. I think of all my children, all safe, all asleep, and I am filled with such joy and gratitude.
I silently wish all mothers, everywhere, the gift of such deep joy, love, and peace.

Okie could have gone to anyone's room for comfort and help. It wasn't just that I am Mommy. My door was the only one open.

And so it is, that a mother's door is open. a mother's heart is open. Even when she can not do it; even if she says no, even if she gets mad and frustrated; even if she is not nurturing or a caregiver by nature, her door is open. And even if her door becomes closed, there is no lock that will lock out those living in her heart.
Yes, there are "moms who become monsters" as I read on a facebook post this morning, and there are unfit mothers, and mothers that are mere babies themselves.
But the gift of a life, just as the sun rises this morning, bringing new life to a sleeping world, is precious and amazing, and brings
hope to all of humanity.
To mothers everywhere, May you walk in Beauty and Peace. May you walk tall, and dance joyfully. May you feel the love and gratitude from all of the universe for all you endure, all you give, all your pain, all your flaws, and all your teachings. May you rejoice in being connected to all mothers, and Mother Earth herself.

So, I have been talking about transformation and change; shifts within, and great new ways of thinking and being.  There is indeed a feeling in the air great change and shifts, and oh how wonderful it is to be here riding this wave of evolutionary rising in vibration!
Pictures of butterflies and rainbows scatter the pages of facebook and appear more and more in nature. We see them and smile, as their colors and magic of being touch us. They are symbols of transformation and hope.
And yet, people ask me, " Why am I struggling?"   " Why does this keep happening?"  " why can I not move forward?"
Others say, " oh, life is hard."  " I can't stand it. It used to be easier."

Well, not trying to be trite, but remember that before the butterfly is a butterfly, it is in a cocoon- blinded to the world , and in a state of sleep.

Remember, that the beautiful rainbow comes after a storm, or through the rain.

Life has always been this way. When our ancestors spent each day surviving against all odds, they may have awakened on a particular day and said
" This really sucks."  but then they would brave through their days because that is what was, and now,  we wonder less about how they were feeling - were they depressed? did they have anxiety?-
and we ponder more about the facts of their existence.  And so it will be someday with future generations looking back to these times. { Wow how did those people do it? Had to be something more than all the meds they were taking....}

And there is. We are waking up. We awaken to the storms that we have not paid attention to. We open our intuitive and compassionate eyes to the inside of our cocoon, and we begin to fear.  Who am I , What am I?
And we think we see the end of the storm, the opening of the cocoon, but then we just can not seem to break free. The sun doesn't quite stay out; the rainbow fades.
Tasks at hand seem insurmountable. Problems seem to multiply, or move into deeper levels.
Haven't we faced our shadow selves enough?
Apparently not.

So what to do, how to go on in this phase before we spread our butterfly wings? Before the storm gives way to sunshine and rainbows?

Do not be afraid.
Fear not.
For we are walking the red road, as we have done for all time. we come around and around the medicine wheel of life, and each time, we move into deeper and more expansive ways of being and thinking.
Yes, yes, times are tough. But we are ready. And ready or not , here we come, butterfly wings out / Shining high vibrations and all.

Close your eyes and breathe and be grateful. For any little thing. Even when the crap is hitting the fan.
Reach out to one another. We are ALLL going through the same stuff! I know this because I talk to alot alot alot of people from all over the country, and there is not one person who is not moving through some kind of transformation, whether they know it or not.
I know- I am saying the same stuff I always do- breathe, be grateful, reach out, take small steps, focus on one triumph at a time, help each other,
immerse yourself in doing the things to be the person you wish to be.

Stop worrying.

Worrying sends out a major boomerang out into the universe , and all your best laid plans can be skewed.

Get out of your own head. We are  often walking around like ticker tapes on parade. Busy doing and thinking and thinking and doing.
TAKe TIME. MAKE TIME. for meditation[ not medication} yoga, walking, exercise, enjoyment.

Get out of your own way. Do something kind for someone else. Even a kind word or a smile. It's not all about you. We think it is, but really it's not. Oh good. Whew.

Ah breathe in a sigh. Whew. It's all about Whew.

New Meditation:
Breathe in  ,  and then breathe out  " Whewww"
Do this until you feel a sense of
                                                    " Phewww"
And then open your eyes and awaken to a renewed you and then, from this place of peaceful power, go and do, or dew, amidst the storms, inside the unraveling cocoon.
and know that you are not alone.

Honoring the divine light in you, and you in me, and we are one.

We are beings of frequency. Just like all energies, we are energy, condensed into a human form. We walk around, perform our daily tasks, we go to work. We feel a myriad of emotions and sensations, and our minds produce millions of thoughts, like a ticker tape, throughout the day.
And through all of this, in every moment, we are very much like a radio station, broadcasting out into the universe. This we do no matter what we are thinking or doing or being. It is as matter- of- fact, and yet just as amazing and powerful as our breath. We do not have to try, we do not have to search, we do not have to lament. We are simply broadcasting live 24/7.

The best part of being a living being, a human being, is that we can choose just what we broadcast if we wish!
In fact, we are continually choosing to do this each moment, through our thoughts word and deeds { has a familiar ring, n'est ce pas?}

So, what is it that you choose to broadcast out to the world today?

Perhaps you answer " happiness."  Ah, the happy channel! Yes!
In order for you to be the happy channel, you have to BE the happy channel.

This means that you must nurture your happy self. What makes you happy- what makes you smile? What gives you those good vibrations? the " happier " you are, the stronger your signature broadcast for Happiness is.

Same with Peace, Love, Joy, Inspiration......

Do not worry if it doesn't not happen overnight, because it probably won't. And if you keep worrying and being frustrated, well, that is ok, but just be aware, that your radio station is now broadcasting Worry and Frustration.

AND. Whatever we put out there in our own personal broadcast, will link will all the other millions of  " stations" broadcasting the same thing, and .. yes, you guessed it:
we will attract those people and circumstances into our life.

I have  a teenager { enough said , right? haha } who is in the typical, classic stage of  self discovery and hormonal fluctuation. This brings with it much unrest, dislike of many situations, frustration, fear, anger, etc etc etc.
One can actually FEEL the crazy vibrations in the buildings as the high school fills up with a bunch of amped up walking radio station teens all tuned in and broadcasting out!
" I hate school."  " This sucks."  " I can't stand what's her face."  " Ughhhh I hate that class!"
Nice broadcast.
And the more you tune in an put out the " I hate " show, the more life becomes that which we hate.

Teens and children are one thing. As their mentors and parents, we help them develop skills to change their tunes, discover their gifts, explore possibilities and gain a sense of self worth and love. Hopefully they move through the unsettling stages to become full fledged " radio show hosts" . broadcasting to the world about love, peace, respect, trust, hope and compassion.

Sadly, in our world there are adults that are broadcasting the Hate Show, the Fear Life show, The Anger show, the Depression Chronicles......
Life can be hard. Without even realizing, we start putting out frequencies and they come back to us.
{ Frankly, I am tired of hearing my Financial Hardship Channel and the Scatterbrain Scenarios Broadcast. It is time to Change my Frequency on this and shut down those Broadcasts!}

SO! GOOD NEWS! Here is a secret.......
One good thought, word, deed- One good choice,  inspired moment, act of loving kindness
is more powerful than 1000 yucky ones!
THat's Right!
All you have to do is be aware of what you are thinking, what you are doing. Then begin paying attention to taking action in Thought Word and Deeds to be where you need to be. To create a broadcast that is worthy of you and the best version of you! And then, it will be transmitted out there and others can begin to be the best versions of themselves, and then we all tune in and put out, and live happily ever after!!   yay!  Ha ha not so easy, but I was on a roll there.

One thought, one action begins to turn the volume down on what is not desired. But then diligence is required to maintain the desired change.

So, what is your Broadcast today?  What station are you tuning into?

Unplug. Tune in. Stay Tuned..........

Have an AWESOME, INSPIRING. ABUNDANT, GROUNDED, COURAGEOUS JOYFUL DAY!!!!

Keep your head out of the sand!

There is a lot going on. Has this been an overall feeling throughout human existence? Have we always " had a lot going on?"
WEll, i guess so! I guess this has been part of the human condition. In a world of lots going on, we search for ways to survive, we connect with one another, we process and digest our experiences, and life around and within us, we long for a sense of belonging, we discover a love for one another, we tell our stories and create ways of communicating, we listen, or not, to our intuitions and move through our lives guided by a source far more expansive than our own human bodies.
Now read that again, and think about the 7 major chakras.{ explanations simplified}
Root: { tail bone }                             Survival, primal, self
Sacral: { area btwn hips}                   Creativity, relationships, procreation, others
Solar Plexus { core, center}               Self esteem, digesting ideas and life, gut reactions
Heart                                                  Love of others, self, gratitude
Throat                                                Expression of truth, values
Third Eye { middle of forehead}      Intuitions, knowings
Crown    { Top of head}                   Connection to Source, higher realms...

We can look at ourselves and perhaps notice what areas we are shut down, or lacking, or have way too much of!

And then we can look at ourselves as a species- human evolution has moved through the chakras all the way up to this point in time, where we are in the chakras of higher vibrations. We are evolving into a more expansive human as a whole. It was like it was always the plan.
But somehow we have managed to become so skewed and stuck in certain areas, we have indeed created quite the mess, if you will, until we now are at a tipping point. Because we are going to move through evolution whether we like it or not, and now is the time  we are called upon to open all chakras and be balanced, so that the earth will balance. { NEWS: the earth will find balance with or without us}
Back in the days of the cave man { and woman of course }, we were working on the root chakra as a whole evolutionary species.
If you take  a moment to ponder,
what are we working on NOW?
Maybe it is similar to a medicine wheel, were we keep going around to the same points, only on a deeper level.
So, are we coming back around to Root as this year closes? Or perhaps we revisit all of the chakras all at once in our process of ascension.

At any rate, it becomes quite simple, really. For, as we have so changed in all our years here, it really is very much the same ole stuff.
Whether we are fighting dinosaurs or mortgage companies; surviving in raw nature or crashing establishment......
We are still,  maybe not all of us, but a significant amount ,  making sense of the world and our place in it. We are still moving through our days with some kind of purpose even though we may not be aware of what the heck it is.

So, yeah, there's a lot going on!  And so funny that all the ancient ways are coming back around: meditation, yoga, community, prayer, love. light, all that good for your highest good stuff.... and we are more aware than ever! we are waking up, as our chakras are blasted open with all kinds of energies!!!

What happens when you take your head out of the sand? WEll. you may start to really notice all the messed up stuff that has been going on.
If you have been part of the messed up stuff, you are not going to be very happy that you have been caught in the act! And, you are going to try with all your might to hang onto the way of life that you are used to. "Geez! I have been getting away with this and having a good time ! Why is everything blowing up in my face? I simply will not give up my control" {Hello establishment, banking systems, etc. - sorry for your loss }  Ahh but they revamp and regroup so quickly and steadily.

And the "ostriches" with our heads in the sand? Well, as much as we will want to go right back into that nice place of denial, we simply have to stay awake and be aware. Pay attention.
And then revisit some really nice ways of living:

Take care of ourselves by living healthy. Grounding in our bodies. Moving and doing : resting and restoring. Listen to what your body says to you. Know you Can take care of yourself. You are a survivor!

Take care of one another. Reach out to one another. Ask for help if you need it.  Take time  from the job, the media, the stuff, and be creative. Notice where you feel inspired. Share this! Create the life you desire!

Take time to be calm. Breathe. Exercise. Digest the world by unplugging from it. Nourish yourself with foods that will nurture, not destroy. Notice when your stomach churns, and choose not to percieve life in a way that creates havoc to your systems!

Love.  Be grateful.  C'mon, we all have things for which to be grateful. EVERY DAY be grateful for even the smallest of things, even the toughest of challenges. Love yourself enough to stand up for yourself, and then look to one another without judgement, but compassion,

Tell your story! Listen to stories! Speak your truth! Speak up! Sing! Hum! Cry OUT!

Listen with your inner wisdom. Notice the coincidences in life. Be marveled at seemingly simple happenings. Tune into Nature and feel.  Tune in and see what comes up for you.

Know that you are cared for. KNow that no matter what, you are connected to the bigger picture, that you are positioned just right in the scheme of things, that you are connected to Source, that there IS something more.

See the chakras connection?
We are in an amazing time period right now! WE also are in a very chaotic time period, as we rid ourselves of all the crap that has been going on for a long time.
Yay us. Yay you. Stay in it. Get in Gear. Make a plan. and then be peaceful and connected. be peace. be change.
And the world will change.
And then , there is going to be so much going on , but it all will be AMAZING and AWESOME!

Thank you for reading this. Namaste.

I AM Worthy - Self Talk with WHEE Tapping

I came across this video, and wanted to share!  Positive Self talk is very a very powerful tool to re- align our subconscious with a belief system of worthiness and self love. So much of our struggles and sabotaging ourselves comes from deep internal subconscious beliefs of which we may not even be aware. THis simple technique takes very little time, and done as a practice, can effect great change in your life!
Thank you for this video!

The Buzz word these days is "meditation".  People ask me, " How do I find time?", " I just can't get it."

"I just can't sit still", " My mind never stops thinking of things. I have too much to do."

I know! So much to do. So much to think about. So much going on. Well, now , in our accommodating culture, we have phone apps for 1 minute meditations! So we only have to stop what we are doing for one minute- less time than it take to fill our cars with gas, check our social media sites or stand in line at the bank, oh , or better yet, stand in line at dunkin donuts. Wait! Now we can meditate while we stand in line! Perfect.
Thank goodness for this, because now we don't have to put our phone down. Because if we do not have our phone in hand, we are somehow less connected in, we are somehow less of a person.

And now we have one more thing to stress about: how much we are not meditating.

So, first, let's get rid of the word " meditate."

Don't get me wrong. The practice of meditation is as powerful and important as breathing or resting. We all need to breathe. We all need to rest.
 Meditation is breathing and resting.

So, think about your rest time in the day. When do you slow down for a little while?  Yes, you do. Everyone takes breaks in the day, we just do not recognize them as breaks because we are still doing: on the phone, having a coffee { oh , here's that coffee reference again.. but, hey, america does run on dunkins, or so I hear....}, facebooking, twittering, watching television... Not that any of these things are bad- I am just saying that Doing something does not equal rest.

Sitting at a park, walking in the woods, even closing your eyes at your desk is resting.

Sleeping is another whole thing. Sleeping at your desk = exhaustion.

I am referring to "down time."
Kind of like " Time out" for kids.
When kids act up, misbehave, go crazy, it is a custom to put them in TIME OUT. This may be a corner, a specific chair, a designated Time Out space.  It is a gentle way of punishing bad behavior. Sorry for the harsh words- maybe it's not punishment.... after all punishment is a " bad " word.
Imagine if we used " meditate " instead?

" Little Joey! THat's it!  Go and meditate for 5 minutes! "
hmmmmm.  interesting thought.
Anyway,  Time OUt  works. I have done it with my kids. I have even taken myself into Time out.

What Time out really does is give everyone a few moments to pull out of the crazies that are going on- gives everyone a chance to regroup- stops the momentum of  an unfolding incident.

So what if we just changed our verbage for the sake of getting past the stress of meditating?

We will call it TIME OUT.

" Mom, what are you doing?"
" oh just taking a time out."

" Can you forward that email asap?"
" Sure, boss, just going to take a time out first."

" Why are you late?"
" I am sorry. I had to take a time out."

You get the picture!

Oh wow, so now , in our day, we get a TIME OUT!  A FREE PASS!  When are you going to do this?  From this moment forward,
Let's commit to taking a TIME OUT every day. Your own Golden Moments stolen in the beginning, middle or end of the day. Maybe you can designate a corner, or a chair, or a room! All to yourself for your own Time Outs. Cool. And noone will think you've turned guru- zen- ish.  Maybe you can even put a cup of coffee in front of you to start. Totally acceptable.

In this TIme Out, you are going to breathe. Just pay attention to your breath. Feel it coming in and expanding your lungs. Sense where you feel it come in. Feel it leaving you as you exhale. Notice where and what you feel. Can you feel the muscles in your belly contracting as you breathe out? Notice your feet, your tailbone, your butt as they connect to the floor, and hence to the earth. feel your spine lengthen. Feel your shoulders relax. Close your eyes. do not worry about thoughts that come. They will come. Just let them come and go.  feel your self relaxing........ Open your eyes and breathe.
TIME OUT OVER.
Feeling refreshed , rested and ready?  You will.  Stay with it.

During this full moon phase on March 8, it is important to focus our intention on energy transference- assimilating the new energies coming in, into our physical beings.

Here is an excerpt from Children of the Sun Foundation:

"With the recent increase in solar activity, our planet has been rhythmically bathed with solar light electronic substance this past week as the orb of our moon shines upon us with increasing fullness. The erratic weather without, mirrors similar energetics and shifting within for much of humanity. As Planetary Servers, we must respond to the call for action as our skills in energy transference are direly needed to harmonize the incoming light codes and allow God's Plan to unfold upon Planet Earth.

Our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters who are suffering loss on many levels due to recent events. As we place our focus, this full moon, upon strengthening our abilities to transfer healing energies, we must pour our heart and soul into transmitting the Sacred Fires and the Solar God Force into all areas of greatest need, locally or nationally. We have many requests for healing transmissions this moon, as our soul family strives to balance the incoming codes of shift; physically, emotionally and spiritually. " ~Children of the Sun

There is indeed a lot going on!  You need not to understand everything. You just are being called now to know your own self. Not the little self that goes through the daily tasks and routines- not the self that is doing and going, but the larger Self: the Self that is your center- the unwavering steady awesome Self.
Where is this Self?  Existing in the deepest caverns of our subconscious? Living in the molecules of our very bones? Moving through the etherial planes of being? Tuned in to the frequencies of All that is?
Yes, yes and yes.
The you that you know, by name , by looks, by experiences in this life, is just a part of your larger expansive SElf. You have chosen to put a mere spark of yourSElf into the body you are living in right now. That's why it is so easy to become disconnected to your physical body. We walk around most of the time not really knowing what is happening inside of us- we refuse to pay attention to our body signals . Let's face it, it is challenging to be in our bodies alot of the time!
But here we are. here we are, in our temples, in the sacred space of our own selves/ Selves.
Our minds attempt to categorize and understand. We want answers and solutions. We want results. We analyze and think. We think and think and think.  And then we think we know. And then we find out we do not know. We find out what we thought we knew, is really not the whole picture. So our minds begin trying again to label and categorize.
See how "crazy" we can become? See how distracted we allow ourselves to be, focusing, processing, organizing, understanding the details.

Well, we can give ourselves a break, because this is part of being human, and let's be honest- we do go through some heavy duty shit. Tough to breathe in the universal flow while your world is falling apart.

But that is just it. It is when our world falls apart that we are called to tap back into our higher purpose, true Self, bigger picture- whatever you want to call it.

How?  Quiet the mind. How many times can we hear that statement?!
But, it is true.
Meditation. Movement. Stretching. Yoga. Massage. Energy work. Be in service to others. Breathe. Tune in to body sensations that are joyful. Immerse yourself in moments of pleasure.
Be diligent in cultivating feelings of joy and love and pleasure. Even the simplest things. Feel.

All of these ways of connecting back into your source of Self are important, and becoming increasingly difficult for people at this time of heightened frequencies coming in { the new energy of 2012 it is often called}

So, simple. On this Full Moon, set aside time, whatever that means to you, to connect into that Self. We are able to use to Solar Energies and Moon energy, so we might as well!

Feel the sun on your face. { pretend if you do not have physical sunshine} Imagine this warm sun, this fiery white light comes through your skin, through your pores, and fills your body with cleansing, healing fire energy.
Breathe in and feel the warmth move through your whole body, igniting the fires of vitality and life force, opening up the creative, inspired, passionate You. As you exhale, listen to your breath leaving, and physically Feel your body expelling air. With this exhalation, imagine you are releasing all that does not serve your highest good- everything you do not need, everything that is harmful and hindering leaves with your out breath.
Do this for as long as you choose.
We are affected by the sun , and as its great energies amplify and send blasts of solar energy our way, we owe it to ourselves and all of humanity to assimilate these waves of fire energy into our bodies.
{ besides, if we busy ourselves with this, we think less of all the other crap going on ... right?}

Now, in the Full Moon phase, we can bring in Moon energy.  Balancing the Fiery Solar with the Cooling Lunar.

Feel the Moon beams on your face. Allow the cooling white light to surround you and move through you, cooling, calming, healing.
You can do the same breathing in and out as you did for the Sun meditation, this time bringing in nurturing, peaceful, soothing feelings in through your breathe.
Release. Renew.
Yin/ Yang
Light/Dark
Balance.
Harmony.

Feel the truth of knowing your steady unwavering SELF. The Center, that is unaffected by the stuff going down. Tune in to the radio station of your own inner truths. Not by thinking about it,  But Just by BEING in it.

We will be doing this meditation tomorrow, Wednesday, March 7 at 630pm at Masjah Studio. I hope you are able to join us.
Namaste,
Tracey

If we went through our days consciously and continually remembering everything we have ever experienced, we would go insane! But  we are wired as such that everything we ever have experienced is saved, not only in the archives of our minds, but in the very cells of our bodies. We are connected with one another, and all living beings, by common threads of existence, common threads of purpose. As we live our lives, we weave patterns and create streams of connective light energy, either high or low vibrational frequencies, with EVERYTHING and everyone. If the frequencies match another, in some way, we begin to create connective ties that greatly influence the patterns we weave.
We are unaware of this mostly, because in human existence of every day living we can not possibly cognitively think about this every second. We can KNOW it, We can intend to live at a higher frequency vibration so to attract higher frequency connective threads in our web of life.
Not easy all the time. We are often plummeted into our own abyss of density { " darkness " }.

But there are sign posts along the way to help us " stay on track":  Little signs,  synchronicity, moments of inspiration, feelings of joy and love........ feeling connected.

Pay attention to the tiniest little signs in the moments of life that connect you back in to your own stream of connective light patterns.

I am inspired to write today, after a fun night of connection with my classes last night as we reminisced about childhood memories that we all shared. From ages 30 to 60, everyone in class had a memory of Davy Jones and the Monkees- we laughed, we shared, we sang. We connected with another on a night in 2012 about a memory in 1966, 1976. 1986?..... suddenly there was no time. suddenly the connective stream wove around and looped through all timelines, and there we were, joyous and supported by our little group of time travelers.

The passing of a well known figure gives a great opportunity to connect the dots of our own lives, but also let go of our conceptions and realize we really are just a part of the ever weaving patterns of vibrational energy.
Cool.

Have a good feeling, flowing day. Happy March 1 !
